What makes your service different to others?
Unfortunately individuals have seen dietitians before and felt the advice was too generic, leaving them without real benefits or lasting change.
At Dietitian on a Mission, we're different. We draw on deep knowledge of nutritional biochemistry and physiology to analyse your current health, reverse-engineer potential causes, and craft targeted interventions to improve it through diet. We're committed to diving into the latest research—if you have specific concerns, we'll review relevant studies and apply findings that are most applicable to your situation.
Think of us as an extension of your doctor's team, but focused solely on prescribing food, fluids, and supplements (when appropriate) to support your goals.
Most importantly, we're open to new ideas and collaborate with you through trial and error to discover the eating approach that truly works for you. We're not generic—because you aren't either.

Can I claim a rebate from Medicare or my Private Health Fund?
Yes, as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Dietitian on a Mission is recognised by Medicare and private health insurers in Australia.
To claim a Medicare rebate, you'll need to meet specific criteria, such as having a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP, formerly TCA) from your GP, which can provide a rebate of approximately $61 for up to five dietitian sessions per year.
If you're unsure about your eligibility or whether a CDMP has been arranged, speak with your GP for guidance. For private health insurance, verify your policy details with your provider to confirm coverage for dietetics and nutrition services.
In all cases, full payment is required at the time of your appointment, after which you can submit our itemised invoice to claim any applicable rebate from Medicare or your insurer. -
How many consultations will I need to achieve my goals?
It all depends on what we are trying to work towards! Patience is key to allow your body time to adjust to the dietary changes you are making.
As we go through our consultation we will identify different nutritional concerns and work with you to address and improve each one.
Depending on the number of nutritional concerns identified we may undertake sessions more frequently to begin with and gradually lengthen out the time between reviews as you gain the confidence and knowledge to continue on your own. -
Will I receive everything I need upfront after the initial consult?
Due to our thorough, personalised method, it's simply not possible to deliver every detail required to achieve your goals in just one session.
Follow-up reviews are where we delve deeper, breaking down and tackling your specific nutritional challenges step by step. Revies allow us to provide targeted education, recommendations, tools, and support to drive real progress.
These ongoing meetings also let us evaluate how well the initial strategies are working for you and adapt as your needs evolve. -
What does a Dietitian Consultation Involve?
Reviewing Your Nutrition History: We'll discuss your past experiences with nutrition, including what has or hasn't worked for you, and how you best absorb information and education to ensure our approach aligns with your learning style.
Assessing Body Composition: This involves taking a detailed history of your weight, height, muscle and bone mass, fat mass and distribution, as well as waist-to-hip ratios to provide a comprehensive baseline.
Interpreting Blood Tests and Biomarkers: From a nutritional perspective, we'll analyze your blood tests to identify potential deficiencies or gain insights into the health and function of your organs and body systems. This may also incorporate data from continuous glucose monitors, ketone monitors, or other wearable devices.
Evaluating Clinical Symptoms: We'll discuss and interpret any symptoms you're experiencing, such as bloating, bowel movements, appetite changes, fatigue, pain, skin issues, sleep disturbances, thirst, or urination patterns.
Conducting Dietary Analysis: This includes diet histories, recalls, food diaries, online tracking, macronutrient and micronutrient breakdowns, and identification of food components or chemicals that may impact your health.
Developing a Personalized Plan: Together, we'll identify your primary nutritional concerns and create a step-by-step plan to help you regain or optimise your health, with ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
